hired work Hired Work

These are videos that I have been hired to produce.  Keep that in mind, as they are not truly intended to be for entertainment, but also serve a legitimate purpose such as advertisement or otherwise.
Note: I do film school plays throughout the year, but due to copyright issues and extreme length of the files, I have not included them here.  Furthermore, some of the videos I have produced are deemed "confidential", and therefore I am not permitted to upload them to a public forum.
Filmography coming soon.

chariot09 Chariots '09 - March 2009

Every year, my school holds chariot races, where Latin students build their own chariots and compete for honor and glory.

soul changers Soul Changers Promotional Video - Fall 2008

Soul Changers Ministry is a non-profit outreach organization that exists to aid recovering addicts in re-assimilating into society.  In August of 2008, I and my best friend Travis were approached by a close family friend, Hunter Tison, to edit together a video highlighting what Soul Changers is all about.  It was shown to a large group of potential benefactors that October, and was highly successful.  I am extremely proud of the reaction that this video brought.

Note: This video is not for the faint of heart, as it deals with many serious, troubling issues.

The Grim Reaper EyeGhost: The Reaper - June 2008

Promotional video I did for the product EyeGhost back in the summer of 2008.  It was an interesting time for me, as when I was filming this, I got a call from my manager at Firehouse Subs telling me that I was over an hour late for work.  I think the haste shows...

travis lightsaber Whitefield Academy Annual Fund 2008 - April 2008

My school approached me and my friends Travis Harris and Forrest Parks to produce a short promotional video for the school's Annual Fund.  The video was an overwhelming success, and the school received record-setting donations after its release.  I take great pride in this video just because I got to reference Star Wars and put lightsabers in a video that I made for my school.

To quote Singin' in the Rain, "make 'em laugh!" Everyone loves a good comedic video, simply because comedies make you feel good about life and forget your troubles for a while.  These are comedic videos that I have produced.

Human Resistance Dog Tags Ask the Chest Hair: Weight Loss - January 2010

Chuck Norris vs Dos Equis vs Bruce Lee vs Bruce Campbell Ask the Chest Hair: Bad Assery - Reposted January 2010 (Originally September 2009)

Who is the biggest badass to walk this Earth?  I dunno, but I figured that since I had chest hair, I might offer up my opinion.

Grilling burgers with Angus staring at me. Rock 'n' Roll Pain - November 2008

This was my submission for the AC/DC - GIVEITALLYOUGOT contest.  We were supposed to cover the song "Rock 'n' Roll Train" and produce a video to go along with it.  The video didn't win, this one did.  All in all, I'm not really sure what they were looking for, but I still really like my video.

We want your soul. Blues Brothers 2008 - June 2008

My friend Travis and I look exactly like the Blues Brothers, so it was only fitting that we create a Blues Brothers parody video.

Yippee Kay Yay Ears: Die Hard - 2007

I decided to do another Ear video.  This time I based it on Die Hard.  Some have told me that this is their favorite Thorne's Attic Film to date.  I'm just leaving it here on the off chance that you like it as well.

Squeal, piggy. Ears: Deliverace - 2007

I once had an art assignment where I had to draw human ears over and over again for an hour. Instead of just biting the bullet and doing the assignment properly, I got creative... and the Ears series was born.
Note: This video was removed from YouTube because apparently WMG didn't like me using their recording of "Duelin' Banjos" in a scene that's not about rape.

Why so serious? Heath Ledger's not- well not anymore at least. Serious Films

These movies are not supposed to make you laugh, though sometimes they will.  They are dramatic, suspenseful, tragic- anything that doesn't qualify them to be labeled as "comedy".

The False Prophet of Revelation Revelation - November 2009

Regardless of your religious beliefs, the book of Revelation is difficult to ignore.  Interpretations vary as to how, if at all, this piece of Apocalyptic literature relates to our world as a whole.  Inspired primarily by Eyes Wide Shut and Begotten, here's my avant-garde vision of what has already passed, and what is to come... if you believe in that sort of thing.

Note: This video consists of real, and somewhat disturbing, images and archive footage  presented in a highly metaphorical manner.  Viewer discretion is advised, and please keep an open mind.

hero Hero - May 2009

Probably the bleakest and most depressing movie that I have produced, this short film was shot in the span of two hours at the top of a vacant parking garage.  It's observance of the significance of a single human life. Out of all my work, I'm most proud of this movie.  I couldn't have asked for better actors to portray The Girl and The Hero, and overall I'm just proud of how this turned out.

Eagle Project Whitefield At A Glance: Eagle Scout Video - Summer - Fall 2008

My Eagle Scout service project was filming, editing, and publishing an admissions piece for my school.   It was well received, and I earned the rank of Eagle because of it.  All in all, I would say that this is definitely one of my more successful movies.

You gonna get raped There - 2007

The story behind this one is far too long and complicated to explain.  Basically, following complications during surgery, I fell in a deep depression.  The emotions I felt were supposed to be captured in this movie, as it was the ultimate coping mechanism.  I look at it now and I can recognize that the movie isn't the greatest thing that I have produced, but it helped me get rid of the darkness that I felt within myself.  The production of this movie was one of the greatest experiences of my life as well, just because it brought me closer to the friends I had alienated during my episode.

I often enjoy performing in front of a live audience.  There's just something about the energy of a crowd that gets me pumped up.  Here are some videos from past performances.

Thorne Winter V Eagle Scout Speech

Eagle Scout Court of Honor Speech - October 2009

I really love delivering speeches, though I rarely get the chance to do so.  Here's a video from my Eagle Scout Court of Honor, where I had somewhat of a captive audience.

other Other

For movies that really don't belong anywhere else.  What constitutes a movie that falls into this category?  I have no idea, I'm just being prepared for when I create something that has no other official label or genre.
Might as Well Be On Mars - Alice Cooper Might As Well Be On Mars - February 2010

My latest and probably last video adaptation of an Alice Cooper song after taking a 3 year hiatus after "Wind-Up Toy" and "Former Lee Warmer."

Fun fact: I actually had been planning this video since February 2007, but didn't have the technological know-how to pull it off until this year, everything you see is exactly as I envisioned it all those years ago.

Snowy Day Snowy Day - December 2009

I had this short instrumental track that I had composed 4-5 years ago for a Christmas themed computer game (long since lost on a crashed computer) sitting on my hard drive, and I figured I should do something with it. I threw this together in 2 days or so, and the animation is fairly shoddy to say the least, but it's my first step back into animation after taking a break for a few years.

Keepin' Halloween Alive since 1965 Keepin' Halloween Alive - October 2009

It's no secret that I a huge Alice Cooper fan, and many of the people that follow my work do so because of my Alice Cooper music videos that I did a few years back.  Well here's my return to the medium at the master's behest himself.  A month ago Alice called for his fans to compete in a contest to see who could create the best karaoke video to his brand new song "Keepin' Halloween Alive".  Here's my offering, it tied for 3rd place.  Coincidentally, the one time I didn't animate an Alice video, the animated entry one... damn.

Former Lee Warmer Former Lee Warmer - July 2007

Though it doesn't have any real sentimental value to me, I still like this video.  It's another Alice Cooper tribute video, this time set to the song "Former Lee Warmer" off of his psychologically genius album, Da Da.  I used to think I was really deep with my interpretation, but then again, that was years ago.   I hope you like the video though, I tried to capture the mood perfectly.

Wind-Up Toy Wind-Up Toy - January 2007

Like There, this video was a way for me to cope with my depression during the early quarter of 2007.  I feel like the emotions that I was feeling come out quite strongly in this video, as it was produced during the darkest months of my life.  I can't remember much about that time, it's all a dark haze, but I feel like this video can tell you better than words exactly how I felt.  It's set to the song "Wind-Up Toy" by Alice Cooper, which remains one of my all time favorites.  I might redo this video sometime, but right now I think it can still stand on its own.  Something that no one catches: The kid in this video is meant to be Jacob from There, so maybe that's a hint as to the real intentions behind that film.

You can find my old cartoons on the old version of my website, but any hired work that I did back then
probably won't be posted for a while... mainly because I can't find the video files right now...
(it was back in 7th grade mostly).
